So why do the most recognised brands in the  world wide continue to spend MILLIONS of dollars every year on marketing?

Well two things you can be absolutely certain of is: .......

  1. They are NOT doing it on a whim

  2. They know EXACTLY what return they will get for their spend!!

Why then in so many businesses does marketing take a back seat or is overlooked completely?

One of the problems is that a lot of businesses regard marketing a bit like medicine, only to be taken when something is wrong

Marketing is FOOD, not medicine and your business needs constant and sustained nourishment!

Two excuses often given as to why they are not investing in marketing:

1. We are too busy we don’t need to do any!! Yes you may have lots going on now but what about 6 months time, a year, 3 years? Don’t leave your future to chance,  continue to sow seeds for a future harvest.

2. Business is poor, we can’t afford to do any marketing!!  No you can’t afford NOT to. This is simply the equivalent of starving your business to death.

Marketing is food. It’s the regular, sustained nourishment that gets your business where you want it—and keeps it there. You need it throughout the day, every day.

Peter Drucker, one of the leading experts on management theory, wrote:

“Because the purpose of business is to create a customer, the business enterprise has two—and only two—basic functions: marketing and innovation. Marketing and innovation produce results; all the rest are costs.”

While inexperienced businesses wait until they’re starving to start looking for nourishment, these smart businesses eat regular, healthy meals throughout the day, keeping them strong and thriving year after year.
